Is Perfection in Christ Possible? Case Study of Cristiano Ronaldo

Matthew 5:48King James Version (KJV)48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

This scripture has always given me issues because Yes the Bible is true but is this actual verse even possible? i mean with all the rising and falling. Anyways i began to study, go deeper as the Holy Spirit led and here are the points from the digging. Special thanks to Faith Adegoke and Tele Aderibigbe for helping out with this too, God bless you.

10 points

  1. If you believe in something very strongly, it should produce results. Any faith that doesn’t produce results is fake.  E.g. If you say I believe in divine health but not living in it, your faith is fake. Or believe that He is your protector, and yet scared of going to some places He sends you, then your faith is fake. The stronger the faith, the more potent the result He’s bringing. Now if you believe that your life can be perfect but your faith is not showing that, your faith is fake.
  2. Faith brings what is in the spirit realm into the physical realm. When you pray for something, what happens is that God answers in the spirit realm and your faith brings it into the physical. Mark 11:24 (Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.). If you are ill, and you pray about it, start to act like you are fine, you have been healed in the spiritual realm. Your faith will bring it to the physical. (E.g. let the weak say I’m strong, let the poor say I’m rich). Even though it might take a while, in the end it will work. (a) The length depends on how strong your faith is (b) the situation. In any case, you don’t give up. Because its already working in the Spiritual.
  3.  Case Study Analogy: Jesus is like C.Ronaldo extremely fit, athletic, the best (I personally prefer Messi but once it comes to training haaard I give that trophy to Ronaldo) etc. The reason why he can score many goals etc. is because he is fit, trains hard, eats healthy, works on all his strengths and weakness. You see Jesus healing the sick etc. because He’s spiritually fit. He trains everyday and eats well. Imagine Jesus is Ronaldo and every sinner and newly saved are alike an amateur footballer or A fat footballer.
  4. Perfection by faith produces Obedience. This means I believe Christ is in me and He was perfect, therefore I believe so strongly that if Christ is in me He will manifest through me and therefore I will also walk like He walked. (James 2:8-13). Jesus has made us righteous and pure before God. When you are saved, you are pure before God. His blood has wiped you clean. But that is in the spiritual. It hasn’t gotten to the physical yet. So how do we bring the status of being perfect and righteous from the spiritual realm to the physical. James 2:14-26. Because Abraham had faith in God, any command given to him, He obeyed. Because He trusted God. He was counted righteous for his faith AND obedience. Abraham’s Faith produced obedience, yours should too.
  5. I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. Why can’t we use this scripture when it comes to perfection? Like ‘I can live above sin through Christ that strengthens me’. This scripture sums up a life of Grace, the ability to do the supernatural through Christ.
  6. Back to Jesus being fit and sinners/new converts/baby Christians being fat. Now see yourself as fat, your fitness coach is the Holy Spirit. He’s there to make sure that you become like Ronaldo. He knows that if he tells you to go and get fit yourself, you wont be able to do it, even if you think you can. He knows you need him. ‘Until perfection is your lifestyle, you cannot attain it’. Your trainer knows the right dumbbell you need to carry. He knows the best work out routine for you. Working out is prayer, fasting, tongues, worship, church meetings and working for God. NOTE If you want to slim down, and you work out but still eat junk food, you are wasting your time. Working out is a DAILY thing. Serena Williams has been working out EVERYDAY for 30 years, Stephen Curry shoots 200 3-pointers in warm-up daily and has been said to make 193 of them and 97 in a row, now that’s crazy.  That’s what makes champions. What is junk? The kind of movies, songs, unholy discussions that arouse you into sin that does not glorify God. Healthy food is studying your bible, listening to messages and then speaking in tongues. Healthy food combined with working out is what makes you fitter.
  7. The reason why you are not living in perfection is because you don’t believe in it enough. You can’t have faith through your mind; you have it through the spirit. Faith is a spiritual thing and not an intellectual thing. It’s the spirit that reacts in faith, not your mind. The more faith you have, the more connection you have with your coach (sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit). When your coach comes to knock on your door in the morning for a jog (pray), don’t shut your door, open it and stand up.
  8. What is FAITH? (Hebrews 11:1). How does Faith come? (a) By hearing and hearing the word of God (bible study, messages, church) (b) Jude 20 Praying in the Holy Spirit.
  9.  Walk in the spirit so you wont fulfill the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). This means work with your coach. He will always lead you in the right direction. He works in us both to will and do of His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13). When you work with your coach, He makes sure you can do more and better. He makes sure you keep going. ‘Good pleasure’- He assists you in doing it.  He doesn’t just help you to want to do good, He gives you the power to do good. E.g. He helps you not to want to lie, and also gives you the power not to lie. ‘He works IN us’. He’s still IN you but you have to be the one to do things he leads you to do (e.g. Help you in an interview or exam. Does not do it for you, He does it in you and through you).
  10. The more faith you have, the more grace you can access and the more works you will do. If you ask C.Ronaldo who the best player in the world is, he says he’s the one. Even before He won the Ballon d’or.. shows his faith. Then He goes to the gym and works harder than everyone else. So that his training matches his faith. So whatever you profess, you have to make sure what you do behind the scenes matches what you profess if you say you are holy, you have to do the work behind necessary to live a holy life, how? Simply abide in the vine (Jesus, Read John chapter 15).

SO What is perfection???: Perfection is simply constant obedience to your coach. Whenever you obey the Holy Spirit, you are walking in perfection. Even though you are not like Ronaldo yet, but the fact that you want to get there, and are getting there, is all that your coach needs.
