//This is the story of Lazarus illustrating salvation.//

1. Jesus loved Lazarus, thereby he wept for him when he died. Jesus is not happy when people are slaves to sin.

2. Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life, but you have to believe in him for his power to work for you.

3. The dead Lazarus represents that the spirit of unbelievers, which are dead due to sin and because of the generational sin of Adam.

4. The Stone that covered the tomb represents "A SINFUL LIFE". Jesus needs us to forsake our sinful life into a life of holiness through his blood and his word. Also because of our sinful lives (STONE), we cant hear him calling us out of darkness into light.

<"Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.">

*(1 John 1:7)
<"But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.">

6. Rolling away the stone and Martha's saying that the tomb has a bad odor because Lazarus had been dead four days Represents (Proverbs 28:13) :

*Confessing Your Sin. (a sinful life has bad odor to God, His eyes are too pure to even behold iniquity (Habakkuk 1:13))

* Forsaking your sin and promising not to go back with Gods help and grace. ( Rolling away the stone)

* An act of faith in Jesus Christ, believing he is your lord and Savior and he is able to save and deliver you from sin.

7. Once the stone is rolled away Jesus can then resurrect your spirit that was dead through the your sin and the sin of Adam and Eve . " Lazarus, Come Out!!!" Through this the glory of God is revealed in your life; and because of your conversion to the light, others will believe in Jesus as well.

8. The grave cloth represents the fact that although your spirit in now alive in Christ, you still need to :
* Sanctify (wash, clean) your MIND (soul, heart) through the word of God and the Holy Spirit's help. (removing the grave cloth)

(John 17:17)
<Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.>

* You need to feed your spirit so that he might be strong through the word of God and by the help of the Holy Spirit.

(1 Peter 2:2)
<"as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,">

* Then showing your seriousness of not going back to sin, not going back to a dead life by consciously purging yourself and renewing your mind from dead works through the word of God and the Help of the Holy Spirit. (removal of the grave cloth).

<"Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.">

<"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.">

* And finally following all Gods commands and winning souls for Gods kingdom by broadcasting the wonders he has done in your life and how He (JESUS) can also save their souls.
